HOUSE39
Located in a unique residential area of Kuala Lumpur surrounded with lush greenery, the design intent for this villa was to create dramatic views blurring boundaries with nature. Undulating stone walls anchor the building to ground; while light weight structures are used at upper floors supporting overhanging pitch roof fit to tropical context and thus, recalling traditional local architecture.
All the interiors of the house are designed in line with black&white principles recalling victorian architecture to contrast the tropical reference employed for the building envelope. This comes in extension to the owner's many years of living in London that constitutes a large part of her identity.
